Masquerade

This work (1975) exudes the atmosphere of a mystical spectacle, in which the face of an unknown figure floats between reality and illusion.

The graceful, flowing lines around the face are reminiscent of the undulating movement of a theatrical collar, as if the figure has just stepped out of a Venetian ball.

Who is behind the mask? Is it a character, an archetype, or a reflection of our own hidden layers?
